About Oral ovulation induction - New advances

The aim of ovarian stimulation/induction is to achieve one oocyte, one pregnancy and one full term healthy baby. In this presentation, Dr. Jaydeep Tank, Fertility and IVF Consultant, discusses the physiology of ovulation and the various methods of oral ovarian stimulation/ induction. The two most common agents used for oral ovarian induction are clomiphene citrate and letrozole.

Dr. Jaydeep discusses the mechanism of action, usage and limitations of both. Comparative studies and meta-analysis of clomiphene citrate and letrozole for induction of ovulation are presented are as the ACOG, WHO, Australian NHRMC, AACE/ACE and Endocrine society guidelines and current recommendations.

About Jaydeep Tank

Dr. Jaydeep D. Tank has joined the practice since the past seven years. Prior to this he was at the Nowrosjee Wadia Maternity Hospital as a tutor where he gained extensive experience. He has trained abroad at the Kings Country Memorial Hospital and the Health Science Center at Brooklyn New York USA, Clermont Ferrand ( France ) for endoscopic surgery, in Haarlem ( Holland ) and for hysteroscopy surgery and at the Vrije Universitat Brussels, (Brussels, Belgium ) for infertility.

He has been presented several awards. The most prominent of which are YOUNG GYNECOLOGIST AWARD from The Asia Oceana Federation of Obstetrics and Gynecology, for the AOCOG 2000, the FIGO FELLOWSHIP AWARD from the Federation International de Obstetrics and Gynecology in September 2000 and the FOGSI CORION AWARD in December 2000. He has been invited to several places in India and abroad for lectures and demonstrations.
